Here is what we are doing to keep guests and guides safe during the COVID pandemic
-
For the time being, we have moved away from mixed groups and will be offering private groups of 4-9 guests on the Day Safari and 6-9 guests on Captain Bob’s Excellent Adventure. Private tour groups will have a private airboat ride, boat cruise, wildlife drive, nature walk and lunch.
-
Facial coverings are required on tour. Asymptomatic COVID carriers are the main cause of the spread of the virus. If everyone wears a facial covering the risk of spread is reduced tremendously.
- Insect repellant reduces the chance of mosquito bites.
- Sunscreen reduces the chance of developing skin cancer.
- A rain poncho reduces the chance of getting wet during a rain shower.
- A face covering reduces the risk of contracting COVID.
-
We head into the wilderness to social distance so why not a little more?
- The front seat and front row will be marked off to provide a safe distance between guide and guests.
- Guests and guide will remain 6 feet apart or more throughout the day.
- Guest occupancy will be limited at marinas and museums.
- Guests will sit away from other patrons at the restaurant.
- We will avoid crowded places and large gatherings.
- Guests will reserve, pay and sign our waiver online to avoid unnecessary contact with staff.
-
Here are a few things we should always do to prevent the spread of any germs:
- Wash hands in warm soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
- If soap is unavailable use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol (provided on tour)
- Don’t sneeze on each other. Cover a cough or a sneeze with a tissue and dispose of the tissue in the trash.
-
Guides will be screened daily to assure they’re in good health.
- Guides will take their temperature and report to management in the morning before the tour. If their temperature is 100 F or higher they will not be permitted to work.
- If guides have two or more of the following symptoms they will not be permitted to work. Chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell
- Guides will report to management if they have been in contact with anyone who is under investigation for COVID or has had any of the symptoms within the last 14 days.
-
At the conclusion of each tour, vans are cleaned inside and out with soap & water. The interior is disinfected with a CDC-approved Hydrogen Peroxide solution, the combination of which is effective in destroying the COVID virus. We wear masks and gloves during the cleaning procedures.
